Winning and What it Does To the Mind of Your Opponent
Odd title, I know. But I'm a huge, die hard, I-don't-care-how-tired-I-know-I'll-be-tomorrow-I'm-staying-up Red Sox fan. West Coast games are not the easiest ever. However, if I'm tired and the other 19 emotions that come with the post-season, at least I know we're in the hunt.
So, we won our 1st game. 4-1 at LAA. People were nay-saying it at 1st because 'Lester is pitching in lieu of Beckett, who...' Hello?! Lester is a very capable pitcher. In fact, even our dissenters have to admit - Lester killed it! It was amazing. Rally monkeys or no, noise makers or no, the Red Sox won. 10th in a row, post-season, v. LAA.
So, then we hear that they're going to give us a run for our money on Friday night. It's the playoffs, kids, would you expect less?! I mean, really? Seriously? No, you would hope, anyway, that your team would fight, fight, fight and win, win, win!!
Dice K is pitching for us and some "green" kid, Santana, was pitching for the LAAs. We scored 4 runs in the top of the 1st...with 2 outs. We weren't superb either way but we were really good. Ultimately, we shut down LAA in their home stadium, 7-5. That's huge.
11 straight post-season losses to the Red Sox. You could see the faces of LAA fans. I think it's huge psychologically. I know it is. They're coming to Fenway Park tomorrow night, Sox fans can feel that feeling that's between mass anxiety and total, unfettered joy. LAA has a lot to overcome.
As I told one of my friends, repeatedly last night, if we can shut up the fans, we shut down the heart. The fans got very quiet and we know. We know we're infiltratiting and what that does. I believe we're going to be OK. I believe in my team. I believe I don't get to do laundry for a bit, lest I screw up the juju.

Cool Site for Indie Artists
Are you an Indie artist? Do you love rockin' out with your group or on your own and want to be successful but totally hate the 'stuff' you gotta do to get gigs, promote, record and so forth? Are you 'not the most organized cat ever'? Could you use a place where everything's all streamlined allowing you to do what you gotta do and then be able to go rehearse, song write, play your music, play a gig for your fans and maybe have a life??
If you answered 'yes', go check out
I've personally added several hundred retail and press outlets to the site and, having visited a blur of sites, I can tell you without bias that it is one of the cleanest, most streamlined, easy to use sites I have seen.
The price is a great deal for what you get and the time you save trying to find information. The site's owner is great, too. He's not a starchy executive but a huge indie music fan himself and thusly knows what you need but also listens to your suggestions!!
Go check it out! Really.

Cool pictures...

I discovered abandoned buildings a long, long time ago. An abandoned slave cabin in back of Polly's house as a child. Never went near it because I was told not to. That and I wasn't sure what I would do if I ran into the girl in the nightgown. The building that was part of the grain business next to the railroad tracks by gramma & grampa's house. We went into it and explored before they tore it down. Nothing went up in its place it was just old, had rotten feed in it and had to go. There were more buildings in FL that I wanted to go into than I can think of. A lot of them were just plain unsafe, many had invisible safeguards around them and some of them were too creepy for words.
Now I've discovered cool pictures and people who like exploring as much as I do...except I have not yet made more than join-a-group type contact with them.
The hardest part about this for me is that these buildings have rich history and I think that time spent renovating them for homeless people or low income families would be worth it. Sadly a lot of them just get demolished to make way for 'progress'
